Sunbury Press Inc. to print John Moore's
Frontier Pennsylvania books
Sunbury Press, Inc., has signed author John L. Moore of
Northumberland, and will publish his well-known Frontier Pennsylvania history
series, which will reach eight volumes with the latest release, “Forts,
Forests, and Flintlocks.”

Headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pa., Sunbury
Press, an independent publishing company, was founded in 2004 by Lawrence Knorr. It publishes trade
paperback, hard cover and digital books that are printed in the United States. The
books deal with many fiction and non-fiction categories. “Our most successful
categories have been history, biography, self-help, historical fiction, horror,
police procedurals and mysteries,” the company said. More information about Sunbury Press is available at: http://www.sunburypress.com.
Moore’s books reflect a half
century of research and travel to historic sites throughout Pennsylvania. They
deal with the 18th century conflicts between the Indians and the
colonists. The French and Indian War and the American Revolutionary War are
frequent topics.

The veteran newspaperman said he employs a journalist’s eye for detail and ear for quotes in order to write about long-dead people in a lively way. He said his books are based on 18th and 19th century letters, journals, memoirs and transcripts of official proceedings such as interrogations, depositions and treaties.
The author is also a professional storyteller who specializes in presenting dramatic episodes from Pennsylvania’s colonial history. Dressed in 18th century clothing, he does storytelling in the persona of “Susquehanna Jack,” a frontier ruffian. Moore is available weekdays, weekends and evenings for audiences and organizations of all types and sizes.
The volumes will be 8- by 5-inch
paperbacks, ranging from 50 to 70 pages, with full-color covers. Other titles
in Moore’s series include:

·
Bows, Bullets, and Bears;
·
Cannons, Cattle, and Campfires;
·
Pioneers, Prisoners, and Peace Pipes;
·
Rivers, Raiders, and Renegades;
·
Settlers, Soldiers, and Scalps; and
